Wikipedia went dark, Google blotted out its logo and other websites planned protests to voice concern over legislation intended to crack down on piracy.

Internet blackout against U.S. law fails to enlist big sites
Despite calls for the participation of sites such as Facebook, Twitter and other big names, the biggest participants are Wikipedia and Reddit. Of the biggest tech sites that have voiced opposition to the legislation, only Google planned any type of change to its site.

When the protests began in September, critics of the Occupy Wall Street movement claimed it was made up of slackers and hippies who were too lazy to get jobs and instead resorted to camping out in Zuccotti Park. In response, the protesters were eager to prove that they come from all backgrounds and have a host of demands. Those demands are outlined in the many signs throughout Zuccotti Park and the world. I suppose when you’re peacefully protesting in a park all day you have time to perfect your next witticism?
